Primary PE Specialist Coach

Merton School Sport Partnership are looking to appoint enthusiastic UKCC Level 2 and above PE Coaches, to work during the school day to provide high quality, fun and engaging Physical Education, physical activity and sport sessions for primary aged children, and to support our school sport competitions and festivals across the borough.

We are looking to appoint two to three people, available for 3 – 5 days per week at a range of locations in Merton for the spring term and for rest of the academic year. The positions are suitable for either self-employed people or as casual contracts (PAYE).

As well as providing high games coaching for PE lessons and extra-curricular clubs, dependent on the applicants experience, the role could also include supporting the delivery of our school sports events in a range of sports and activities including football, tag rugby, basketball, swimming, disability sport, multi skills and Young Sport Leaders.

Applicants should have a minimum of a Level 2 UKCC/LTA award in a sport with good experience of delivering a wide range of different sports to primary age children and ideally some experience of coaching in schools. An enhanced DBS, professional references, work history, right to work and proof of Self Employed (IR35) status checks will be made. The safeguarding and protection of children is paramount in our work and Child Protection Training will be need to be completed in advance of work commencing.
