We're here to help young people feel healthy, happy and confident through the provision of fun and fulfilling competitions, leadership programmes and school PE sessions.

Merton PE Coach Academy

After the success the Merton PE Coach Academy has had in its first year delivering the Level 3 Certificate in Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education, School Sport & Physical Activity, we are delighted to be able to expand our coach training offer for academic year 2024-25 and deliver both the Level 2 Certificate in Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education, School Sport & Physical Activity as well as the Level 3 certificate.

Level 2 / Level 3 Courses

As part of the Level 2 and Level 3 programme in 2024-25, delegates will undertake a series of classroom based theory modules lead by specialist trained MSSP tutors and QTS staff throughout the academic year that are specifically designed to help them develop their confidence and ability as coaches who can support or deliver primary PE and physical activity. This combined with the opportunity to practice delivering practical PE sessions with primary aged children will provide Merton PE Coach Academy delegates vital real world PE teaching experience, and the opportunity to put classroom theory into practice.

Eliza Banks, PE Co-ordinator at Holy Trinity

‘The MSSP lesson resources have been a huge success at Holy Trinity.  The MSSP team forward these in advance to Sports leaders which allows us to circulate these with our class teachers and has provided children with a high-level PE lesson every week during lockdown.  The resources available are easy to access, provide detailed planning for the children to follow and the videos are of high standard. The worksheets are clear, sets out the aim of the lesson and also gives children to opportunity to develop and reflect on their skills. We have had lots of positive feedback from both parents and children. Following on from the running session a child told his teacher " It really was a good workout... I was fully out of breathe. It was actually really fun ". From all the teachers at Holy Trinity we cannot Thank you enough for providing us with these excellent lesson resources.
