MSSP Risk Assessments

MSSP is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants. Risk assessments are completed for all MSSP events, competitions, festivals, and activities and are made available to attending schools prior to each event via email. Risk Assessments will also be added to each event page in the resources section.

While MSSP undertakes event-specific risk assessments, schools remain responsible for ensuring they have completed any necessary school-based risk assessments and that all pupils attending are appropriately supervised in line with their own policies and procedures.

Schools should ensure that:

• Appropriate adult-to-pupil ratios are maintained.
• Relevant medical, SEND, and safeguarding information is shared with accompanying staff.
• Emergency contact details are readily available during the event.
• Any specific participant needs or access requirements are communicated to MSSP in advance where possible.
• Staff have reviewed the event information and risk assessment before attending.

By working together, MSSP and schools can help ensure that all sporting opportunities are delivered safely, inclusively, and effectively for every participant.
