West Wimbledon Cluster Year 3/4 Football Festival

31st October 2022

The Year 3/4 West Wimbledon Cluster Football Festival took place on Monday 31st October 2022 at the Raynes Park High School Sports Ground with 9 teams taking part from 6 schools.

90 children took part in a round robin format across 3 pitches with each team playing 6 fixtures against teams from other schools.

Despite this event being a festival with no scores or results being taken, each individual and team contributed tremendously towards the good atmosphere and spirit of the day. Team’s approached each game with commitment and desire to do well but with a high level of respect for the opposition and their own teammates throughout. Coaches and MSSP staff were impressed with the quality of some of the football as well as the positive attitudes towards the event.

Thank you to each of the following schools, coaches and pupils for taking part and making the afternoon an enjoyable occasion; Wimbledon Chase, Pelham, Joseph Hood, Sacred Heart, Hollymount and St. Matthew’s. Well done to those individuals who were mentioned for outstanding moments of respect and fair play and congratulations to our REFSPECT winners for the day, Joseph Hood Primary, for being nominated by other schools for their kindness and consideration towards others during the games.

Thanks to Raynes Park High School for the use of their wonderful grass pitches and facilities at the Memorial Sports Ground and thanks again to all schools for taking part – we look forward to seeing you again at future events.
