Netballers from Bishop Gilpin and Poplar Primary were not deterred by the blustery wind at the Ricards Lodge courts today. Eight determined teams represented their schools and enjoyed a fun filled round robin festival.
Sports Leaders from Ricards Lodge each managed a team and umpired all of their matches throughout the morning. They helped the players to rotate their positions and organised them to be on court ready for each match. The Leaders gave some great coaching points and lots of positive feedback which really helped the children to progress their skills as the morning went on. Each team discussed which of their opponents deserved to be nominated for their fair play and respectful attitude. All the participants showed great team work and determination but it was Bishop Gilpin’s ‘Lightening’ team that gained the most nominations to receive the Refspect award for the day.
Well done to everyone and many thanks to Ricards Lodge for hosting the festival and for their Leaders who ran the whole event on the day!
