Optimistic Orienteerers show Tremendous Team-building Brilliance

19th July 2022

On Wednesday 8th June 2022 Merton SSP hosted our very first Orienteering and OAA Teambuilding Festival at the covered domes of the AELTC Community Courts of Raynes Park.

11 schools attended over 2 sessions bringing over 120 year 5 and 6 pupils to take part in our maze of 12 various physical and thought-provoking challenges.

Each team of 5 pupils did their best to work together constructively around the stations to earn a letter towards the final scrambled word puzzle – of which each school achieved tremendously.

Our 12 stations:
CROSS THE RIVER
MINEFIELD
MAZERUNNER
ARCHERY
PIPELINE
FIND THE PAIRS
BUILD A MAP
CONTOURS
LEGO TOWERS
TOWES OF HANOI
TOXIC WASTE
NORTH SOUTH EAST WEST

We would like to thank Rutlish High School for supporting us with 16 sports leaders from Year 8 who lead each station with focus and grately  helped each team as they came around. The boys are a credit to their school.

Well done to Hatfeild and Morden Primary for being voted REFSPECT winners over the two sessions by our sports leaders and thank you to all schools for their efforts in being able to participate.  We look forward to the next one!
