The Merton SSP Yr 5/6 Tag Rugby Borough Championships took place on Friday 11th October 2024 at Old Rutlishians Rugby Club.
Over 140 pupils from Year 5/6 participated across 15 teams with 12 sports leaders from Yr 9/10 from Rutlish School officiating the fixtures. Thanks to Rutlish school for organising this and also to the Old Ruts Club for hosting. We were also joined by the London Broncos, London’s only top flight Rugby League team, and with a special visit from Buck the Bronco, the day was certainly one to remember!
The morning session took place across 4 groups with all teams vying for a top 2 finish in order to qualify for Quarter Finals. All teams showed great determination and passion with many moments of outstanding skill and enthusiasm throughout.
