Competitions Round-Up | Autumn 2025

17th December 2025

This Autumn term, the MSSP team have enjoyed hosting a number of sporting competitions, festivals and events for pupils across our primary and secondary schools. These opportunities offer children in KS2 aged 8-11 as well as a number of KS3 and KS4 pupils with the chance to represent their school and experience new sports and activities. The event days also offer teachers and staff with new ideas and formats to take back and try within their school settings. We strive to offer positive experiences that will encourage children now and will continue to do so for the future of their school sport and physical activity journeys.

Thank you to all schools, staff, host venues and sports leadership teams for supporting us in enabling these events to take place.

Secondary School Sporting events

MSSP support the partnership of KS3 and KS4 sporting events through the Merton Secondary School Sports Association (MSSSA). This Autumn we have been busy with a number of events. Thank you to all host schools, sports leaders and club links for enabling these opportunities to take place.

Congratulations to Wimbledon College Boys and Ursuline Girls in the Yr 7 and Yr 8 Sportshall Athletics events and who both qualify to represent Merton at the London Youth Games in February 2026.
Congratulations also to Harris Academy Merton Boys for being crowned 3v3 Basketball Champs for this year with an impressive display in the 10-team event hosted at St Mark’s last Friday 12th Dec and qualify for the NBA regional LYG event. Good luck to all our progressing teams.
Well done and thanks too to all that took part in the Girls Netball and Boys Table Tennis, including double TT champs – King’s College, as well as to all students who took part and qualified to represent at Surrey through the Borough Cross Country trials this past term.
