Sportshall Athletics Championship Results 2024

4th December 2024

The MSSP annual indoor athletics competition took place on Tuesday 3rd December 2024 at the Canons Leisure Centre, Mitcham. The Sportshall Athletics event is always one of the most atmospheric events of the year and this one was no different with over 350 pupils across 2 sessions representing 20 schools in our borough.

The event comprises of a number of fast paced ‘track’ events, some with obstacles and some flat races to each wall with turning boards to aid the turn of the lap. As well as this, 6 ‘field’ events take place at the same time along the other half of the hall with long jump, triple jump, speed bounce, vertical jump, javelin thrown and chest push events making up the challenges.

Pupils took part in 2 track and 2 field events each all scoring points for their team accumulating in an overall position for their respective morning or afternoon session.

Thanks to all schools for taking part, we hope all children had a good experience and we value feedback to help shape our events for the future.
