Event Information
Booking
- This is a Inclusive Festival level event.
- If an event reaches capacity, schools will be placed on a waiting list and advised accordingly. MSSP will contact schools if places become available in the lead up to the event.
Event Eligibility
- This is an Inclusive Festival event with an emphasis on fun, participation and getting active.
- This event will be on a Astro 4G surface.
- We endeavour to design our Festivals to be accessible and enjoyable for SEND participants. Please let us know if you plan to bring children with either communication and interaction needs, cognition and learning difficulties, social, emotional and mental health difficulties or sensory and physical needs. We will be mindful when shaping our festivals to amend activities to suit any participants with these needs and impairments.

Team Eligibility
- Age: KS2.
- Mixed gender event.
- Squad Size: Maximum of 8 players in a squad.
- Pupils with SEND or those identified as the least active should be prioritised by schools when selecting a squad.
Kit & Equipment
- Runners of the same school should wear the same colour tops/bibs.
- No jewellery permitted.
- All children must wear appropriate footwear.
- No spikes or metal studded footwear allowed.
Rules
- The batsman distributes all three balls into the playing area, this can be done using a kick, a bat or by throwing the ball, a batting tee maybe also used (no bowler).
- The batsman must travel around the bases (diamond shaped pitch) before the fielding team can collect all the balls and return them to the batting square.
- If the batter returns to the batting square before all three balls are returned they score a full 4 points. 1 point scored per based reached if all balls returned before the runner gets all the way back.
- Fielders cannot move to collect the balls until all balls have been distributed.
- Each batter will receive 1 bat per match.
- Teams will both field and bat each match.
- Substitutions can be made at any time by notifying the sports leader.
Competition Format
- There will be no competitive results recorded for this event.
- Teams will be placed into groups to play as many games of Scatter-ball as possible against other teams as time permits.
Sport Format
- Rounders-based set up with sending and fielding team
Draw Format
- Round Robin groups.
Awards
- Participation certificates will be presented to all participants.
- REFSPECT winners – Certificate.
Results
- Results and event report will be available on the news webpage within 24 hours of the event ending.
Progression Pathway
- There is no planned pathway from this event and there will be no overall winner.
Staffing and Spectators
On any school sites: Spectators will not be permitted entry to any school/private sports facilities. Primary schools must inform parents in advance when inviting students to take part. All staff attending the event must have enhanced DBS clearance and have been fully vetted by their primary school. DBS numbers, full name and school will be required in advance by the host school.
