Healthy Schools London is an Awards Programme that will reach out to every London child, working with schools to improve children and young peoples’s wellbeing.
There are three levels of Healthy Schools London award: Bronze, Silver and Gold. The tiered structure of the award is designed to help schools to progressively build on their policies and practice over a period of time.
What does a school have to do to achieve a Bronze Award?
To achieve a Bronze award, a school will need to review its practice in promoting health and wellbeing by completing the Healthy Schools London Review Tool (Bronze Award). This must be renewed every 3 years to ensure that policies and practice is current.
The workshop will provide support for schools as they work towards the Bronze awards, providing 1-1 support, a range of resources, tools and advice to review your current practise, then plan and deliver your next steps. We will support you to renew your Bronze level award, providing guidance on the awards process for each of the following areas within your schools health and wellbeing provision.
- Leadership, management and managing change
- Policy development
- Learning and teaching, curriculum planning and resourcing
- School ethos, culture, environment and SMSC development
- Provision of support services for children and young people
- Staff continuing professional development (CPD), health and wellbeing
- Partnerships with parents/carers, local communities, external agencies and volunteers to support pupil health and wellbeing
