Merton Best Team Cricket Borough Finals 2021-22

On Friday 10th June, fifteen schools from across Merton competed in the Year 5/6 Best Team Kwik Cricket Finals held at Old Ruts Sports Ground. Each team had qualified from their cluster and had the opportunity to become Merton Champions and represent Merton at the Surrey Kwik Cricket Finals or at the London Youth Games.

Each school was drawn in a group based on their cluster and where they finished in their cluster events.

Hard-hitting Hollymount Claim Girls Cricket Crown

On Friday 27th May 2022 the Girls Kwik Cricket Competition at Old Rutlishians Cricket Club returned after a long absence. We were delighted to welcome 11 teams from 7 schools from across the borough as well as 13 sports leaders from Ricards Lodge to help officiate the fixtures on the day.

The teams were split into two groups for the first round of fixtures that would then lead to a final placings match to determine the overall winners and standings. The placings were as follows:

Group A

Raynes Park Cluster Year 5/6 Best Team Cricket Competition 2021-22

The Y5/6 Raynes Park Cluster Kwik Cricket Competition took place on Tuesday 24th May 2022 at Old Ruts Cricket Club. 9 out of 11 Raynes Park Cluster schools were competing for the chance to qualify for the Kwik Cricket Borough Finals on Friday 10th June, with teams split into two groups of 5 teams. Teams would play a round robin format in their groups, with the top 2 teams in each group going on to represent the cluster at the Borough Finals.

Mitcham Cluster Year 5/6 Cricket Competition

On Tuesday 17th May 2022, teams from the Mitcham Cluster took part in the Cluster Kwik Cricket competition. Links, The Sherwood, Lonesome and St Mark's arrived at Mitcham Cricket Club ready and eager to play in the competition.

As schools arrived, they started practicing their bowling, batting and fielding skills, getting themselves prepared for their upcoming games. Once all schools signed in, they gathered in to go through the running of the day and to find out which schools would be playing each other first.

Year 3/4 Mini Tennis Red 2021-22

On Friday 6th May 2022, MSSP ran its annual Year 3/4 Mini Tennis Red Competition at AELTC Community Sports Ground. Sixteen schools from the borough entered the competition all hoping to become crowned Merton Borough Champions. All the children enjoyed themselves especially as they got to play in the Aerodome. The competition began with the group stages with every school playing each other within their pool.

Yr 5/6 Merton Netball Finals 25th March 2022

This year’s Borough Netball Finals were held once again at Ricards Lodge School on Friday 25th March 2022. Following the four cluster events, 16 teams qualified from across the borough to compete to be crowned as the Year 5/6 Merton Schools Champions.  

In the group stages we saw some very close results across the courts with the children determined to do their best and work well with their team mates. With half times in every match there were plenty of rotations to ensure players tried their hand across all areas of the court.

Morden Cluster Netball Competition 2022

The Morden Cluster held the annual Year 5/6 Netball Competition on Thursday 17th March 2022 at the Harris Academy Morden courts arena. 7 schools took part bringing 11 teams and participated in a group stage format leading to a final placings match. Thank you to Abbotsbury, Morden, St Peter’s & St Paul’s, St Teresa’s, Cranmer, Singlegate and Liberty for attending and making one of our largest cluster Netball competitions so far.
