Safeguarding and Child Protection
MSSP acknowledges the duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and is committed to ensuring safeguarding practice reflects statutory responsibilities, government guidance and complies with best practice and the requirements of the Partnership’s host organisation, the Harris Federation. MSSP staff are employed by Harris Academy Morden and adhere to their Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy. At the Partnership, we work across a range of schools within Merton. As such we have developed a Safeguarding and Child Protection Supplementary Policy for MSSP to ensure processes and expectations are well communicated and managed across all our schools and events.
We recognise that the welfare and interests of children are paramount in all circumstances. We aim to ensure that regardless of age, ability or disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation, socio-economic background, all children and young leaders:
• have a positive and enjoyable experience of sport or physical activity at MSSP events in a safe and child centred environment
• are protected from abuse whilst participating or officiating at MSSP events
Please see our Refspect page for more information about our anti-bullying programme or open the downloads below for more information on what to do if you are concerned and other documentation to support our safeguarding policies.
