Aimed at SENCOs, TAs, PSHE coordinators this introduction to LEGO® based therapy aims to help develop social competence through the development of social skills. Collaborative play provides opportunities for children to practise skills such as turn-taking, listening, sharing ideas, communication, compromise, problem solving and shared attention. Each child plays the role of an ‘engineer’, a ‘supplier’ or a ‘builder’ and together they follow pictorial instructions to build a model. This 6-hour course introduces you to the fundamentals and theory behind this therapy and gives you some tools to be able to set up a similar intervention in your schools.
By registering onto a Merton/Sutton PE Workshop or training event using our online course booking page, you have confirmed that those registered will attend the training. If delegates do not attend, you may still be charged full price for the course if the place cannot be filled. In some circumstances we may refund bookings in the form of course credit; however this is at the discretion of Merton PE.
