The Mitcham Cluster held its Year 3/4 Football Festival on Tuesday 10th March 2020 at St Mark’s Academy Mitcham. Nine schools took part in this festival; Beecholme, Bond, Links, Lonesome, St Thomas, Stanford, Sherwood, William Morris and Harris Primary Merton. All schools arrived raring to go and in high spirits despite the rain looming overhead. Two leagues played across three pitches meaning teams had plenty of games. The games started with the players showing off some silky skills and attacking football to try and create a breakthrough. Throughout the festival teams played in high spirits with some excellent talent on display.

The standard of sportsmanship demonstrated throughout was superb. Many schools received nominations for our Refspect Award. However, Beecholme won the award with the majority of votes for respecting all players and officials, being polite and showing positive sporting etiquette and behaviour.

Well done to all schools that took part in the football festival. Every team put in 100% effort with all the teachers and players being supportive throughout. Thank you St Marks Academy sports leaders for your fantastic refereeing and overall support throughout the festival.
